Almond Burfi
Preparation Time: 40 min
Serves: 4-5
Ingredients:
1.
Almonds
: 1 1/2 cup
2.
Milk:
2 cups
3.
Sugar:
500 gms.
4.
Powdered
cardamom(green) : 1 tsp.
5.
Ghee
: 4 tbsp.
Directions:
1. Soak almonds in a jugful of warm
water for a couple of hours.
2.When soft remove the skin and grind
the almonds to a paste.(If you use a
grinding-stone, take care to wash it
properly first so that no previous flavours linger)
3.Mix the almond paste with milk and
sugar and put to cook in a heavy saucepan on
medium heat.
4.Stir constantly till sugar melts and
the mixture boils.
5.Add ghee and cook till the mixture
comes away from the sides of the saucepan.
6.Add cardamom powder and pour the
mixture into a greased thali and flatten out.
7.Cool and cut into
strips.
